Attractions around Bird Haven

Katse Dam

118km (2hr 10min)

Katse Dam which was awarded the engineering project of the decade in 1998 is must see. Katse Dam is the highest dam in Africa and second largest in the continent.

Tsehlanyane

80km (1hr 35min)

Comprises 5600ha of extremely rugged mountain terrain. Tsehlanyane is located deep in the front range of the Maluti Mountains and is part of the larger Maloti-Drakensberg Conservation area. The national park protects a high altitude of rugged wilderness, including Lesotho's only standing indegieous forest.

Bokong Nature Reserve

60km (1hr 7min)

Provides a panoramic view over Lepaqoa River valley. In winter, the waterfall becomes a spectacular ice sculpture set in a landscape dusted in snow. A network of walks, trails & Bird watching are available.

Liphofung Cave, Cultural & Heritage Site (51km) '

62km (1hr 11min)

Cave used by the San people, who left rock art & a rich archeological deposit of stone-age implements on the cave flow. Later on visited by King Moshoeshoe.
